Online Therapy in Hamilton

Rachel Hendron, MSc. Registered Provisional Member NZAC

Hi, I’m Rachel,

I’m a therapist and counsellor based in New Zealand, offering online therapy sessions in Hamilton and throughout the country.

I built this site with my husband because I believe that good therapists are hard to find and a strong therapist and client relationship is important to a positive therapeutic outcome.

I offer therapy online using business class web conferencing tools that millions of people use to work remotely every day. This allows me to offer better rates than in-person sessions.

A little about me

I’m a registered, highly qualified therapist with a background in education. I’m from the United Kingdom but have lived in Singapore, India, Germany, Hong Kong and now I live in the wonderful New Zealand! I also run Montessori Commons, a community dedicated to promoting Montessori Education techniques.

As I’ve travelled, I’ve been learning the latest tools and techniques for therapists, like Focusing and Brainspotting.

Visit my private practise, in-person site to learn more about me. Feel free to take a look at my qualifications and read on to see if I might be a good fit to support you in your therapy journey.

What type of clients do you work with?

Online, I work with adolescents, adults and couples and several members of the same family.

I’ve trained in therapy for adults, but I have specialist experience working with adolescents or young adults stemming from my previous career as a global international teacher. I am open to working with people from all walks of live and can help with the following kinds issues:

  • ADHD

Feel free to reach out if you don’t see your issue on this list. The techniques I use can help in a wide range of scenarios.

How does online therapy work?

I use a conferencing tool called Microsoft Teams (Formally Skype for Business), it’s currently best and most secure tool for working with people remotely. More than 13,000,000 million people use MS Teams to communicate daily.

If you request a session, I’ll send you a calendar invitation for our agreed date, with a link to join the call. It’s that simple. MS Teams can be used on the web, desktop and mobile devices for all major operating systems.

How much does online therapy cost?

Working online allows me to offer better rates than my in-person sessions. I usually charge about NZ $115 per hour, but I work on a sliding scale fee structure, meaning you can choose what you want to pay within a range of NZ $100 to NZ $150 depending on your situation.
